Change, even when fully justified, can be poorly handled, creating suspicion, apathy and even dissent. Equally change can allow for individuals and teams to flourish given the right foundations.

Find out moreStrategic planning is distinct from business planning. While business planning tends to focus on operational execution, resources, budgets and near-term performance, strategic planning asks the broader questions of direction, purpose and positioning. Find out moreWhat is organisational development?
Otherwise referred to as OD, it is a systems, and science-backed, methodology focused on improving a business’s performance, productivity and people.
Is OD and HR the same thing?
We would argue that HR (human resource management) is a function of OD. HR typically handles more transactional functions of the human side of business (eg. recruitment of a new employee), whereas OD considers the entire business as a collection of integrated system and how those systems functions effectively (eg. changing of a recruitment system to improve candidate selection and retention).
OD has five component pieces, all inter-related, but slightly different in function. Leadership At Work is structured in such a way to ensure that your needs are covered, by ensuring we have capability across these four components:
- Culture design and development
- Change design and management
- Leadership structure and development
- HR support
- Strategic planning
What do we mean by organisational development support?
Simply, we enable businesses, irrespective of size, to ensure they are applying OD processes effectively. This might mean:
- Directly providing and applying OD skills eg. providing HR services where the business does not have capacity or capability
- OD planning services eg. consulting with stakeholders, diagnosing root causes and proposing solutions
- Advocacy eg. onboarding stakeholders to undertake a course of action through influence and collaborative approaches
- Learning and development eg. leadership development coaching
